| Dramatherapy is used with groups and individuals in a variety of settings including mental health, training centres, education, prison and probation and private practice. In an early assessment phase the dramatherapist will identify appropriate techniques and aims for the client group. Dramatherapy can be used with clients with no prior dramatic experience but is particularly suited to people looking for an active, creative therapy form. Examples of problems treated in dramatherapy: - Social isolation - Communication difficulties - Problems relating to loss and grief - Lack of self-confidence - Difficulty in managing feelings. Dramatherapists hold a post-graduate diploma in dramatherapy and must be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). They follow a code of conduct and regularly attend professional supervision. |
