This site will give an introduction to Dramatherapy, and the services offered by Sharon Hall, a UK State-Registered Dramatherapist offering workshops and therapy in and around the city of Birmingham.
Dramatherapy uses drama and theatre methods with clear therapeutic aims. The development of dramatherapy as an established discipline has been influenced by many fields and theories of psychotherapy, but central is the notion that drama as expression can be therapeutic in itself. This is to say that the act of playing a role, telling a story or expressing feelings through voice or movement can be healing.
Wild Goose Therapy is the name of Sharon's dramatherapy service. The name is inspired by the Wild Goose, the celtic symbol for the Holy Spirit, and a bird which is vocal, singing and expressing itself. Sharon is a Christian but follows a code of conduct which includes full equal opportunities, welcoming clients of all faiths or none. |
